Illinoisans are hardy people, used to cold weather, but are you prepared for the coming winter? The long-range forecast is still vague–according to NOAA, we’ll be having a warmer, wetter winter, while the Farmer’s Almanac reports a cold, dry winter–but in either case, without adequate planning and protection, anyone is susceptible to hypothermia and frostbite. Look out for the signs for yourself as well as others–infants will show bright red skin while adults may shiver or feel numb.
